Assistant Director Application

Job Description

  • The Assistant Director works collaboratively with the Executive Director in managing the operation of the Norwood Food Pantry including providing training and supervision to the Pantry’s all-volunteer staff. 

  • The Assistant Director is a volunteer position and will perform the activities of the Director whenever the Director is scheduled to be off-site and unavailable. 

  • The time commitment is approximately 8-10 hours per week spread over 2 to 3 weekday mornings plus 2 Saturday mornings a month on a regular basis.  

 

Duties may include:

  • Inventory and stocking storage areas 

  • Ordering food from local stores and from food distribution organizations such as Greater Boston Food bank.

  • Driving to local grocery stores and picking up orders

  • Resolving food distribution issues and client complaints

  • Providing direct assistance to clients of varying backgrounds

  • Maintaining computer program files and database reports.
